Prevent it. Treat it. Reverse it.

Osteoporosis is the most common disease affecting the bones. It occurs when the density of the bone in the body decreases. This leads to fractures of the hip and spine, which can potentially be life threatening. Fortunately, this disease can be prevented or reversed through medications, diet and exercise if detected early. The Bone Health and Osteoporosis Program at Siskin uses a state of the art dual energy absorpitometry scan (DXA) to aid in the detection of osteoporosis. This scan measures the bone mineral density (BMD) of the spine, hip, or total body. The test is safe, non-invasive and takes only 15-20 minutes.
